Welcome to Communication Applications, summer 2009! This class will focus not only on "speech" and speeches, but on the multiple ways humans communicate, the history of communications, and why it all matters.
Put another way, Communication Applications aims to familiarize students with the basics of speech communications, develop students’ abilities to critically read, hear, observe, assess and understand speaking techniques, equip students with skills for more precise listening and effective speaking, and build student confidence for effective communication in the 21st century.
This class blog will be used as a means of communication (of course), and also a way to converse electronically.
